And now the Cons to see if it is the pets for you Sugar Gliders are expensive to buy. Starting at about 150.00 to 400.00 or even higher for a single Glider. Sugar Gliders if they get sick you can end up with a very high vet bill, and most vet's don't treat Sugar Gliers. So you may have to make a long trip to get them cared for. They can live a long time if taken care of properly. About 10 to 15 years. You can not litter train. They do not care where they go. As insectivores. They eat bugs and sometimes pinkies (baby mice) and chick. Sugar Gliders are nocturnal. They have very sharp claws to climb and hang on with. Also their claws have to be carefully trimmed. Sugar Gliders are NOT a YOUNG CHILD'S pet as they are easily crushed.(Most young children have a tendency to squeeze animals) The Glider will probably bite in self defense as most animals do.
